Atain, an enterprise orchestration partner that aligns people, processes, and platforms with AI to redefine work and deliver assured outcomes, today inaugurated a new delivery centre in Cape Town. The launch marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion in South Africa. The expansion underscores its long-term commitment to the country as a premier destination for globally competitive business services.
The new site adds to Atain’s established footprint in Cape Town, which has grown into a core pillar of the company’s global delivery network, supporting flagship international brands across Airlines & Hospitality and Travel Technology.
The event was attended by distinguished government leaders and industry partners, including Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) Mr. John Steenhuisen, along with DTIC representative Mr. Dean Hoff. Industry bodies were represented by CapeBPO CEO Mr. Clayton Williams and his delegation, alongside Ms. Angela Kays, BPESA Lead for Investment Promotion and Investor Relations.
The Deputy Minister praised the company’s growth and its investment in South Africa’s youth.
“I commend the leadership of Atain for their confidence in our country, and continued investment in our youth. Their vision for employment, skills development, and the advancement of young people into the digital economy is outstanding. Atain has grown from a 50-person operation in 2022 and is now a significant employer in Cape Town with a workforce of approximately 1500 that will soon grow to 2100, supported by an investment of R70 million,” said the Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr John Steenhuisen.
“Atain is building more than a business centre. You are building futures. You are building the skills that South Africa so fundamentally needs and, most importantly, building opportunities for South Africans, particularly our youth. InvestSA stands ready to support Atain’s next phase of growth and to work with the broader GBS sector to unlock further investment, employment and skills development opportunities across South Africa,” added Mr Steenhuisen.
Atain’s people-first approach includes benefits such as incentive schemes, medical cover, funeral benefits, and door-to-door transport. Atain’s Learnerships and IGNITE Academy focus on impact sourcing and recruits from disadvantaged and high-risk communities, building a pipeline of skilled talent with 450+ learnerships.
“South Africa is a strategic hub for Atain and an important part of our global growth story. We have built a strong presence in Cape Town on the strength of exceptional local talent, and we are committed to scaling our investment further. Our focus is to create meaningful careers, build future-ready skills, and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients globally.” said Amir Bharwani, Chief Human Resources Officer, Atain.
Together, these commitments position Atain and South Africa’s business services sector for a new chapter of growth, employment, and opportunity for the country’s youth.
